Introduced in 1921, the VV-100 was a popular middle-priced machine that fit between the discontinued XI and XIV models. This was mainly a marketing effort to give the Victor lineup an updated image. The differences between the VV-100 and its predecessors were minimal. Very early versions used machine-carved corner trim (left), but this was soon replaced with some moderate hand carvings on the posts. The VV-100 was updated in Feb.

1923 (right), with a larger horn opening; lower profile lid, and a modern cabinet. In addition, the casters were replaced with metal "gliders" at that time, although the gliders tend to scratch the floor rather than glide across it. An air-damped lid closing mechanism was added in 1924. The 100 was available in oak, mahogany or walnut, although mahogany remained the most common choice. Dimensions: W 21" x D 23" x H 45.
