1950 "Sedgwick" Top model entertainment console by RCA/Victrola Model 9-T-89 (unique separate 45 and 33 lp changers). A really fun project, electrical diagram is available free at radiomuseumorg online--there seems to be nothing like this midcentury console anywhere on the internet! We have no idea if it works, but it may have been working when we took it out of an old building in the west loop twenty years ago.
There is a TV, a radio and two different turntables, one below the radio in a separate pullout compartment, and one that appears to be for 45's above the radio. The cabinet itself is 42" wide, 42" tall and 24 deep. It's dirty but not in really bad shape, key things like art work , emblems, knobs, labels, back covers are great.
Untested and presumably not working. There are scuffs and scratches all around the outside from age and use, especially to the coloring on the wooden base. The veneer is ornate and should have been photoed in bright light and a wipe of orange glo.
See the catalog photo for wood design. Cosmetically only the finish will need refreshing.
The plastic tube surround is brittle from age and can be replaced from white acrylic sheet. The rear TV cover tube cup is missing. There is a cover for the left top segment not screwed down yet. Large repair tag from 1960 attached with string on radio chassis. We will palletize for you only.
The RCA 9T89 is an AC operated 31 tube combination BC/FM band radio, phonograph and 19 b/w TV with US standard VHF tuner channels 2 thru 13. Equipped with picture tube 19AP4A.
Cabinet color is Walnut, Mahogany or Oak. Has both a 45 RPM record changer and a 33 1/3, 78 RPM record changer. The 45 RPM record changer used is model RP-168, which holds up to ten 7 inch fine groove records, or model RP-190, which holds up to twelve 7 inch fine groove records. The 33 1/3, 78 RPM record changer used in this model is 960284, which holds up to ten 12 inch or twelve 10 inch records.
The BC band frequency range is 540 to 1600kHz. The FM band frequency range is 88 to 108MHz. This model uses TV chassis KCS60T, which has 21 tubes (including the picture tube). The 9T89 was also available using TV chassis KCS60, which has 20 tubes (including the picture tube).
